The theme for 2026 is 'Reclaiming Narratives', which aims to correct historical inaccuracies and showcases the success stories and complexity of Black heritage.
Croydon Council will host a variety of events throughout October 2026 to celebrate Black History Month, with a range of themed events focusing on business, art, lifestyle and health.
These activities are free and aim to educate and raise awareness about the contributions of Black people to the community.
The events will also feature discussions on significant figures in Black history and provide opportunities for community engagement and reflection.
