About this event
The theme for 2026 is 'Reclaiming Narratives', which aims to correct historical inaccuracies and showcases the success stories and complexity of Black heritage.
Croydon Council will host a variety of events throughout October 2026 to celebrate Black History Month, with a range of themed events focusing on business, art, lifestyle and health.
These activities are free and aim to educate and raise awareness about the contributions of Black people to the community.
The events will also feature discussions on significant figures in Black history and provide opportunities for community engagement and reflection.
You can search for events on the Culture Croydon website.
During Black History Month, Croydon BME Forum and our partners are celebrating and recognising 20 remarkable individuals and organisations who have made a positive and lasting contribution to Croydon and our communities. The programme of events taking place in October can be found on the Croydon BME Forum website
