Volunteers are essential in delivering the work that Healthwatch Croydon does. In response to feedback of our recent Forum, we are now looking to develop a strong programme of opportunities for volunteers to make a real difference to our work and gain some great experience and skills as well.
Whatever your skills or experience, as long as you are passionate about improving health services in Croydon we want to hear from you. We have a wide range of volunteering opportunities on offer, and you could get started right away!

Health and social service volunteering opportunities beyond Healthwatch Croydon

The volunteer Authorised Representative role involves working within small teams to undertaken Enter View visits, to either a care homes or a hospital ward. You would be responsible for undertaking written notes of the observations plus the feedback from residents, patients, carers and staff on their experiences of the services and their suggestions for improvements. Following the Enter & View visits you are then responsible for submitting the notes to the Lead Authorised Representative within the set time frame.

Your role is to run regular stalls within GP surgeries or at the hospital jointly with another volunteer, plus attend community events or local support groups. To gather local community’s views on various areas such as waiting times, appointment booking, staff attitude, clinical treatment. These are collected through comment cards or surveys, on occasions some individuals may require support with completing these.
