Make a difference to Croydon – Become a Healthwatch Croydon board member
Are you passionate about health and care?
Do you want to see services meet the needs of those who use them?
Do you have senior level management experience of not-for-profit organisations?
Healthwatch Croydon, your local champion for health and social care, is looking for new voluntary board members for a new local leadership board. As a board member, you will have a responsibility to contributing to policy and strategic direction, help define goals, targets as well as evaluating performance. You would also represent Healthwatch Croydon at key meetings and help influence change in services based on insight reports.
We are looking for people with relevant expertise and a commitment to want to see better outcomes in health and care for the residents of Croydon. Ideal candidates will be analytical strategic thinkers, who can analyse complex information, formulate strategy and plans of action. You also need to be a team player, being both a good listener and be able to speak up on issues that you feel are important. It’s also a role where you need to be able to weigh up arguments and be politically astute.
Board members receive no salary, but expenses are paid. The roles can expand to fill the time you are available. At a minimum, board members will be expected to be available two days a month. The board has quarterly business meetings, plus at least two “awaydays” a year. Meetings last up to three hours in working hours but this can be changed if needed for new board members.
