Healthwatch Croydon has relaunched its website with new easy-to-use review ‘TripAdvisor’ style service which can be done with a few clicks on a mobile phone and tablet.

This new service makes it easier for service users to give comments on Croydon’s health and social care services. The review service takes just a few minutes to fill in, so patients can leave feedback with Healthwatch Croydon just after they have received care.

The review service also works as an information service on over 500 health and social care providers including GPs, hospitals, dentists, pharmacists and care homes. All comments received enter the feedback centre and are treated anonymously, even if users leave name and contact details.

Healthwatch Croydon regularly analyses the data of thousands of comments, and see what trends and themes come out. They then report concerns or examples of good practice to local NHS trusts and commissioners (buyers) of services, Croydon Council and others to ensure service users’ views are heard by those who can make the changes.

This new feedback centre has been formally launched at Healthwatch Croydon’s Annual Meeting, today (Tuesday 7 November), where the Mayor of Croydon Cllr Toni Letts, spoke about the importance of the citizens’ voice in health and social care delivery.

Jai Jayaraman, Chief Executive said: “Our decision to invest in this feedback centre means that we now have a fast and efficient way of capturing the views of Croydon residents in relation to health and social care services.

“Every service users’ view is important and we encourage all service users to post a review – good or bad – as it helps us to identify both good practice and problems in the system. Once we analyse these responses we can report to those who buy and deliver services to ensure services meet resident’s needs.”

The Mayor of Croydon said of the new feedback centre; “I think it is fantastic that people can give views on services easily rather than just thinking about doing so.”

She further said about Healthwatch Croydon: “Thank you for all that Healthwatch does for the whole community, and the work they do with the community.”
