A quick guide to information sharing in Croydon

Sharing information in the interests of children and families or adults with care and support needs, is an essential element of both early intervention and safeguarding. Information sharing and data protection is the responsibility of everyone who works with children and families or adults with care and support needs in Croydon.

A common factor in inquiries into the death or serious injury of a child, or adults with care and support needs, is often that key information, which could have prevented the situation, was not shared. All Croydon practitioners should understand how to share information legally and professionally. Understanding how to share information safely and securely provides support for practitioners and helps build their confidence in making decisions about those they are working with.

Free elearning training in Information Sharing and Data Protection is available to anyone who lives or works in Croydon. To register or for further information about the leaflet (below) contact: integrated.working@croydon.gov.uk
