Healthwatch Croydon statement on Croydon Health Services exiting Financial Special Measures

21/02/2017

Croydon University Hospital

Following Croydon Health Services NHS Trust’s announcement that they have exited Financial Special Measures, Healthwatch Croydon makes the following statement:

“Healthwatch Croydon welcomes the news that Croydon Health Services has been taken out of Financial Special Measures. We understand the significant challenges that the Trust has had in recent months. We welcome the commitment to joined-up working with partners in primary care, the local authority, mental health and voluntary sector. This reflects the recommendations we have made to providers, as part of a number of patient experience reports looking into different areas of service provision.

“We also note the Trust’s difficulties in recruiting trained clinicians and encourage any plans to raise profile and innovation that will bring more staff to Croydon to ensure high quality care for all residents.”
